Pet companies refresh leadership across Europe, Asia, and North America
Version 1
Pet companies across Europe and Asia are reshuffling leadership as they push into growth, digital commerce, and regional expansion. GlobalPETS reported a February 2025 wave of appointments that included Martin Daniels as incoming CEO of Sweden’s Pet Pawr Group, Olivier Léonard as CEO of French retailer Zoomalia after its acquisition by JMT Le Royaume des Animaux, Caspar Kam as Mars Pet Nutrition’s new general manager for Benelux, and new regional roles at Ceva Animal Health tied to its Asia-Pacific strategy. Ceva later confirmed that it had created a new APAC & China region, moved its regional headquarters to Shanghai, and named Arnaud Leboulanger to lead it, with Anh-Mai Vu heading pet products in the region. Separately, Independence Pet Holdings has promoted Michael Landsberger to general manager of PetPlace, its pet health information and microchip-services platform, after his prior work building Pumpkin’s wellness business. Why it matters: For veterinary professionals, these moves are more than HR updates. Leadership changes at Ceva and Mars can influence regional commercial strategy, product focus, and partner engagement, while PetPlace’s new leadership matters because the platform sits at the intersection of pet parent education, preventive care messaging, and microchip registration. PetPlace says it is now the home of the 24Petwatch registry, which reports more than 30 million registered pets and partnerships with more than 5,000 shelters, rescues, and veterinary clinics, making leadership there relevant to client communication and reunification workflows. What to watch: Watch for whether these appointments translate into new veterinary partnerships, regional product launches, or sharper investment in digital pet health and client-facing services over the next 6 to 12 months. (ceva.com)
