The Herd Editorial Desk
How we report
The Herd's reporting is produced by an automated pipeline that reads the primary record — FDA and regulatory notices, peer-reviewed journals, company announcements, and established trade press — and synthesizes each development into one clear, sourced story. A human editorial standard governs what runs, how it's framed, and what gets corrected. We're transparent that the drafting is machine-assisted; we're equally clear that the sourcing is real and shown.
What you can count on
- Every source is visible. We list the primary sources behind each story so you can read them yourself. We don't hide sourcing behind a signup.
- One story per event. When a development unfolds, we update the existing record rather than republish it, so there's a single, current account.
- Veterinary focus. We cover animal health — companion, equine, farm, and wildlife — and we stay in that lane.
- No hype. Brief, trustworthy, and plain. If the evidence is preliminary, we say so.
Corrections
We fix mistakes and date the change. If something here is wrong or a source needs adding, email hello@theherd.news and we'll review it.
