Kennel Connection adds iDogCam feeds to pet parent portal
Kennel Connection has integrated with iDogCam, adding live camera access to the Kennel Connection client portal so pet parents can view their pets during boarding or daycare without leaving the platform they already use for booking, contracts, and account management. According to the March 31 announcement, camera feeds appear in a dedicated portal tab only while a pet is checked in, and facilities can decide which areas are viewable, when feeds are available, and whether access is included or sold as a paid add-on. Kennel Connection said the setup uses a direct API connection with iDogCam, a camera provider focused on pet care businesses. (petage.com)
Why it matters: For veterinary professionals with boarding, daycare, or hybrid pet care operations, the move reflects a broader push to make client communication more visible, self-service, and revenue-linked. Kennel Connection already positions its client portal as a tool to reduce phone calls and increase add-on sales, and iDogCam has been marketed across the pet care sector as a branded way to offer livestream access and recorded-video visibility. At the same time, facilities that add cameras still have to manage staff privacy, viewing-hour expectations, and the reality that livestreams can generate questions from anxious pet parents who may not understand normal kennel or playgroup behavior. What to watch: Watch for whether Kennel Connection customers adopt camera access mainly as a premium boarding amenity, a standard trust-building feature, or both. (petage.com)
